Bear Lake Tavern was originally Cromley’s Inn. In 1933, Carey Long, former manager of the Michigan Theater, took over as proprietor. He renamed the business Bear Lake Tavern. Joe and Ann Rose took over management in 1939 and remained until 1964. This souvenir ashtray can currently be seen in the Muskegon County History Gallery.
